New Protein World (NPW) is a European consortium of companies that together cover the entire insect chain – from breeding and processing to end products for the food, pet food, feed and agricultural markets. NPW is committed to sustainable, equal trade between the EU and China, with EU standards and norms as the foundation for all products and partnerships on both sides.

What sets NPW apart is its fully integrated approach: nothing goes to waste. Insects yield high-quality proteins, oils and fats for food, pet food and feed – and the by-product, frass, is a valuable organic fertiliser that contributes to sustainable soil management. NPW brings this complete circular chain concept to both markets.

Market access & structure

Through a formal MOU with the CFNA and a dedicated China representation, NPW has direct access to the Chinese market, government and certification authorities. Equally, the same MOU gives Chinese parties direct access to the European market, European certification and the NPW network in the EU.
